Grace has a special heart for Pastors. Grace also recognizes that not all Pastors have the ability to seek a seminary degree. So we’re launching the Pastoral Institute as part of the Grace Center for Spiritual Development (GCSD).
Advanced theological training for Pastors of all levels – that’s our commitment.
To champion this effort, Dr. Mark Haywood – affectionately known as “The Dean” – is pouring his recently earned Doctorate of Ministry from Grace School of Theology into launching the Pastoral Institute with his trademark energy.

Discourse with the Dean
A video program to highlight and learn from pastors around the country as they tackle theological issues, church leadership challenges, and their hearts for developing other spiritual leaders who can teach others about the love of Christ.
BASIC Ministry
B.A.S.I.C. (Biblical Application for Service in Christ) is a series of non-credit trainings created by the Grace Center for Spiritual Development to provide training in seminary topics without having to actually “go to seminary.” This live training continues to build momentum bringing Grace’s theological training directly to churches, in which Dr. Haywood regularly teaches BASICs of Bible Study.
Grace On Demand
This online learning platform will launch by Fall 2020 with Dr. Haywood being one of the primary teachers in an online Bible Exposition Certificate program available to church leaders without having to enroll in the seminary’s accredited degree programs.

Prior to joining Grace School of Theology, “The Dean” founded the Institute of Theological Studies and helped develop pastoral leadership in churches. The Grace Pastoral Institute will allow him to reengage this vast network of pastors and churches who have benefitted from the training he provided.
Dr. Haywood also previously served as Vice President of Student Affairs and Services & Dean of Students at the College of Biblical Studies (CBS) in Houston, and is the Founding Pastor of God’s Household of Faith in Houston, Texas. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Bible Exposition at Grace School of Theology, as well as Vice President of Student Services.
Dr. Haywood will continue teaching credit courses at Grace School of Theology’s degree programs while bringing his passion for teaching into the Grace Pastoral Institute.
