The Master of Theology (ThM) is an advanced master of theology degree designed for students seeking deep expertise in biblical studies, systematic theology, and advanced research. This 29-credit program builds on the Master of Divinity and emphasizes biblical languages, thesis research, and specialized theological study. The ThM prepares students for doctoral programs (PhD or ThD) and is ideal for those pursuing academic teaching, advanced research, or enhanced preaching and ministry effectiveness.

Ministry Concentration Overview

In addition to 6 credit hours of ministry core, MM and MDiv students have the option to customize 8 credit hours with either one of the ministry concentrations listed below. MA(BS) students will take 6 credit hours of any ministry skills courses in addition to the required ministry courses. While the core courses lay the foundation for a multifaceted ministry, the concentration courses address the students’ need for ministry skills unique to the students’ concentration.

Entry Requirements

✔️ Master of Divinity (minimum 90 credit hours, including one year each of biblical Greek and Hebrew), or equivalent
✔️ Minimum GPA of 3.0
✔️ Students who haven’t completed biblical language requirements may enroll but must complete first-year language courses
✔️ Completion of graduate admissions requirements (essay, recommendations, transcripts, ID)
