After This Manner Prayer Breakfast Spring 2021

January 8, 2021 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am

Pray without ceasing

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Have you ever found yourself lost for words in your prayer time? Or maybe you thought of praying for something and totally forgot about it during your prayer time? Don’t stop praying just because you think there’s nothing to pray for anymore! Instead, be prepared for quality prayer and quiet time with the Lord.

Here are some useful and practical preparation tips for your prayer time.

  1. Declutter your mind.
  • It helps to list down the things that you need to do after your prayer time. This clears your mind and prepares you for focused prayer. You can also read the Bible to calm yourself down before praying.

2. Have a notepad ready in case you remember something you should do while praying.

  • It’s inevitable to suddenly think of an important meeting, grocery item, chore, or errand that you need to attend to while you’re praying. You can pause for a moment, write it down on a piece of paper, and then continue praying.

3. Have Bible verses prepared to claim and proclaim His Word.

  • “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11, emphasis added)

4. Prepare a prayer list—yes, this is okay.

  • It will be best to prepare a list of the items and people that you want to pray for beforehand. Our prayer time is also our appointed time to speak with God, the Creator and Maker of all. We always come prepared for important meetings at work or school. So why not prepare when it comes to the Master of all?

We should start and end everything in prayer. This year, Grace School of Theology kicked-off the year with prayer. At the beginning of this year, staff, students, alumni, and donors gathered together to offer a prayer of adoration, consecration, supplication, intercession, and protection.

Prayer is not a one-time event. It is a lifestyle and commitment to lift up everything to our Lord. We encourage everyone to include Grace in your daily prayers because we are confident that our God is very much alive and He not only hears but also answers the prayer of His people.

Grace has a dedicated prayer team that meets every Saturday morning to not only pray for the organization but for everyone and if you’re interested to join or want to know more about Grace, feel free to contact us here on our website or on our social media channels.
