Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
The Doctor of Ministry program at Grace School of Theology is designed to broaden your vision, deepen your theological foundation, and enhance your practical ministry skills. Courses are planned to challenge you and enrich you both personally and professionally.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The Doctor of Philosophy (Theological Studies) (PhD) degree is an advanced, academic degree that prepares individuals for doing theological research and advanced theological teaching. The purpose of the PhD program at Grace is to provide the highest level of academic training so as to prepare the next generation of theological and biblical scholars within a Free Grace Theological system who can continue to provide academic teaching and academic resources to future generations.
The PhD at Grace allows highly qualified students the opportunity to develop theological thinking in conjunction with either the field of the Old Testament or New Testament orientation. The program includes coursework in theological studies, OT & NT biblical theology and historical theology. After completion of the coursework (30 credit hours), a series of comprehensive exams is administered. The dissertation phase (6 credit hours) includes a year of research and writing under the guidance of a supervisor and two readers, culminating with an oral defense of the dissertation.
In February 2025, the Board of Commissioners approved the seminary’s PhD and approved a five-year experiment to offer this degree through synchronous online coursework, comprehensive examinations, research languages, and a culminating dissertation.
