A Journey of Faith in a Least Reached Nation

In the vibrant city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, a devoted follower of Jesus served as an associate pastor of Resurrection of Christ Church where he is making a profound impact in his community. As a leader, he dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel and serving others. His journey, however, has been deeply enriched by his studies at Grace School of Theology Central Asia – a place that has transformed his understanding of God’s Word and equipped him for greater ministry.

A Journey of Faith in a Least Reached Nation: Arslan Berdakov's Family
I thank Jesus Christ for everyone who supports this program—those who fund, teach, and administer it. Their faithfulness is making a difference not just in my life but in the lives of countless others in Central Asia.
Arslan started to have a wider perspective of the depth of Christian theology, especially the doctrine of Grace. “Studying here has been life-changing,” he shares. “It’s not just about knowledge; it’s about understanding how theology connects to the practical work of the Gospel in local churches and beyond.”
Much of his growth, Arslan says, is due to mentorship of Dr. Andrey Muzhchil, the director and professor at Grace in Central Asia. Dr. Muzhchil is not only an expert in his field but also a compassionate mentor, pastor, and a spiritual brother to Arslan. Under his guidance, Arslan has gained spiritual maturity, learning to navigate complex theological issues and enhance his pastoral ministry with confidence and grace.
Arslan believes that Grace is a beacon of hope for theological leadership training in the region of Central Asia. “This program has so much potential,” he says. “It’s equipping leaders who will bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.” As he looks to the future, Arslan hopes to embody everything he’s learned, becoming a graduate that Grace can be proud of—a servant fully prepared to honor Christ in all he does.
Arslan’s story is one of faith, transformation, and an unshakable commitment to God’s work. It’s a testament to how theological education can empower leaders to impact their communities and the world for Christ.
