Ever since Roland Wade Peete was a teen, his family has been encouraging him to serve God. It took a while for Wade to follow God’s calling, but he soon realized there was no better way than to trust and obey God. He decided to get the proper education to prepare him for what was ahead. For him, he found the right seminary at Grace School of Theology.

Being Prepared to Fulfill God’s Calling in the Ministry
Strengthened Understanding of Salvation through the Lens of Grace
I do not know how God is going to use me, but I know that I will be well-prepared thanks to Grace and the knowledgeable staff at the school.
Wade can still remember how his grandmother and his mom told him that he would be a future pastor or preacher. However, being influenced by the world, he went in another direction and lived as he wanted—even following his sinful desire. Still, both her grandmother and mom prayed for him earnestly. Until one day, he came to his senses and returned to God.
“God showed me that there was a better way. He showed me that all of my wasted years did not have to be wasted after all. It was at that moment that I finally handed over the reins of my life to Him who judges righteously.”
Since then, Wade has experienced the peace of God that passes all understanding. During this time, he pondered the call to ministry that both her grandmother and mother prayed for him. He knew he was already prepared to answer God’s call, even if he still didn’t know where. This was when he started to pursue a seminary education.

Wade enrolled in a school for a degree in ministry and church leadership. However, he couldn’t see that it was the right educational path for him—particularly regarding biblical doctrines. So he continued searching for a seminary that fits his ministerial needs and taught proper truths about the Scriptures.

He learned about Grace School of Theology through Grace On Demand. He tried some of its free courses, particularly the Grace of God. After going through the modules and listening to the professors, he became interested in what the seminary offers.

“The instructors made everything clear and easy to understand, perfectly aligned with what I already knew to be true.”
Wade looked into Grace and its doctrinal and belief statements and discovered that they were precisely what he was looking for. Eventually, he enrolled at the seminary for a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (BABS), a degree he was truly interested in obtaining.
In his study at the seminary, he learned some essential skills that can help him in his ministry as a pastor or preacher. Through his Principles of Biblical Interpretation with Dr. Mark Haywood, Wade learned to dig into the Word of God and interpret the Scriptures correctly, considering essential aspects such as the biblical author and original audience. Moreover, he has also developed a deeper relationship with the Lord through his The Life of the Believer class with Dr. Edmund Keith De Zago.
“This class helped me learn how to let the Holy Spirit transform me and my life through being open and obedient to His leadership in my life and daily walk.”
Wade’s student experience does have its share of ups and downs. There were times when family life and work took the most out of his schedule, to the point that he thought of dropping some courses. Nonetheless, during those times, he felt his Grace family’s support. His professors worked with him so he could continue his studies.
“It is clear that this school has very knowledgeable, Christ-filled teachers who care about the students they are entrusted to teach.”
Wade also appreciates Grace’s discipleship program. The weekly sessions helped him cope with difficult times in his student journey. Through this avenue, he can speak up and have people who can listen to him and relate to what he is going through.
“During the time I was going through my first discipleship session, I also went through some tough personal times, and the people in my group were there to encourage me and help me through it.”
Overall, finishing a degree can be challenging, but Wade can continue studying to be more equipped in the ministry. He credits Grace for its accessibility, attainability, and affordability. Even if he simultaneously works a full-time job, he can still achieve work, study, and life balance. He admires how the coursework is set up to allow students like him to do everything on their own time. Also, the tuition is affordable compared to other seminaries.
“Grace is less expensive per credit hour than the school I transferred from, yet I would pay double my old tuition for the education I am now receiving.”

In his study at Grace, Wade realized what his grandmother and mother had hoped and prayed for so many years. As he prepares himself for what is in store for him in his service to the Lord, the purpose of God in His life becomes more evident as he is prepared for what is ahead in his calling. Whatever it is, he is confident that where he is right now is a preparation for him to be more useful in God’s Kingdom.

“I do not know how God is going to use me, but I know that I will be well-prepared thanks to Grace and the knowledgeable staff at the school.”
