Prayer and Paradigms of Providence

Prayer and the Different Paradigms of Providence

A Webinar with Dr. Kyle diRoberts and Dr. Fred Chay

Does God hear my prayers?
How do I pray an effective prayer?
What do I do when I don’t feel like praying?
If God knows everything before I ask, then why do I still need to pray?

Do you sometimes find yourself asking these questions? As Christians, prayer is an integral part of our everyday lives. We pray when we wake up in the morning, before we go to bed at night, and even during the times in between. We practice having constant communication with God. However, despite this, we sometimes still find difficulty in praying. We can get disheartened and maybe even confused as to what the prayer really is.

In this webinar, we look at the definition of prayer, examine its theology and how it relates to God’s providence, and understand its biblical evidence. Our speakers will be examining theological models such as theological determinism, compatibility theory, Molinism, and open theism in hopes of explaining this theological mystery.
