A Student’s Desire to Grow in His Study of the Word

If you ask Jimmy Escobar about his motivation for studying at Grace School of Theology, he will tell you that it is to be more equipped to teach others about God’s Word. He knows that to become a competent teacher, he must invest in his biblical studies.

A Student’s Desire to Grow in His Study of the Word
In my country, El Salvador, my motivation was to be a professor and teach people. But due to life circumstances, I was unable to finish my degree. I am happy and thankful that Grace allowed me to follow my dreams.
“There is no ministry I enjoy as much as teaching because I am passionate about it.”

Jimmy’s choice of school is based on several factors. First, he was looking for a seminary that would fit his budget but not lack the essential accreditations. When his friend referred him to Grace, he knew it was just what he was looking for. The seminary is affordable and accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools and is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools.

Moreover, Grace offers flexibility for students through its hybrid learning approach. Someone like Jimmy, who spends most of his time in the field of ministerial service, can benefit from the accessibility of the seminary. With its utilization of a web-based learning management system (LMS), students can manage their schedules properly, listen to recorded classes, take quizzes, and submit assignments at the convenience of their place.

“Grace is where you are! It’s like taking the classroom on your computer.”

Jimmy is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (BABS) program. It is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of the Bible and systematic theology. The program also aims to prepare students to serve in their field of ministry by equipping them with the skills they need to succeed.

“Thanks to Grace, I have learned to be a person who reasons better with regards to the Scriptures and been able to use it in serving my church and community better.”

The classes Jimmy took at Grace positively impacted his life and ministry. According to him, the Apologetics class taught him how to present the truth of God’s Word to anyone who is curious to discover the hope he has because of Christ Jesus (1 Peter 3:15). Aside from this course, the Methods of Biblical Interpretation class taught him how to correctly study biblical text to teach its intended meaning to others accurately.

“My experience at Grace is fabulous because it is helping me grow in my study of the Word.
Jimmy is setting his sight on more opportunities to serve the Lord. His goal is to use the knowledge and skills he gained from the seminary to instruct others about the love of Christ—either through Bible studies or Bible Institute classes or wherever God leads him.
“My learning at Grace gives me a lot of security, and with God’s help, I am sure I can be part of The Great Commission.”
