Thanks again to Grace for allowing the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to be taught.
For Michael, the study of theology is a life-long process. Thus, he plans to pursue the highest degree of education in the seminary. For this reason, it helped that the MM program of Grace is stackable. This means that after finishing the degree, he can continue working on another study with a quick progression toward completion.
“It allows me to start at the bottom and work my way up to the highest degree level without losing any money or time. This was a major benefit to me.”
Michael has a positive outlook and believes he can accomplish his theological education goals. He likes that Grace is online, so he does not have to go in a physical seminary. This means he could continue focusing on his ministries while pursuing his theological education.
“I chose Grace because it allowed me to maximize my time and embrace technology from the convenience of my home.”

Under the MM program of Grace, Michael benefited from several courses. He appreciates his Research Methods, Writing, and Technology class under Deborah Cox. He learned how to start a research paper and maximize available resources in the library or online. According to Michael, Debbie has simplified the class for every student, enabling them to understand better what is needed. Although the course was challenging for him at first (mainly since he has not been doing formal schooling for 20 years), his professor ensured that they understood what was needed to pass the class.

Michael also learned proper biblical interpretation through his Hermeneutics class with Dr. Mark Haywood. According to him, although the course is challenging, Dr. Haywood has made it understandable for his students.

“He can take what might be complex and break it down to the lowest common denominator that even those who may not be that knowledgeable can still comprehend.”

Black Church History 1 and 2 by Dr. Thomas Beavers and Dr. John Adolph opened Michael’s eyes to black history. He learned about the truth that transpired during that time in history. He is thankful to Grace for allowing relevant and often taboo classes to be taugh through the Black Church Studies Program.

“Thanks again to Grace for allowing the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to be taught.”

As someone also interested in mission works, Michael learned a lot from Short-Term Experience in Mission class by Dr. Joe Wall. According to Michael, the course allowed him to see missions from another perspective. As a result, his appreciation of it increased. He realized that mission work is critical in advancing the Kingdom of God.

“My mission trip was to London, and I was able to experience much Bible history there. Nonetheless, with all the Bible history from that region, I witnessed a deep decline in Christianity.”
Michael’s student journey was not without any trial. There came a time that he became burned out with life circumstances, so he needed to take time off from ministry and school. He recalls that there was a paper he needed to submit because he was in a middle of a research project. His professor later found out about his situation and extended the support he needed.
“When Grace later found out, they gave me grace and more time to finish my paper, allowing me to keep my grades intact.”
As Michael continues pursuing his theological education and inching nearer to his goal, he has a positive outlook on what he is accomplishing so far and what he would be doing in the future. According to him, Grace fits his hectic lifestyle, so finishing a degree and moving to another one is attainable. It also helps that the seminary is accessible, allowing him to continue in the ministry. Moreover, the tuition is affordable compared to other accredited seminaries.
“Without these Grace distinctive, I am sure I would not receive my first master’s degree in the coming days.”

You, too, can benefit from the MM program of Grace. It can equip you with necessary ministry skills in your area of interest or expertise, such as church planting, pastoral ministry, and biblical counseling. It is also a good starting point if you plan to pursue further theological studies!
